Extreme supermoon simply means the moon will be a little closer to the earth than it has been in the last 18 years. This results in a higher likelihood that areas prone to earthquakes that are primed and ready to go off, might be triggered by additional stresses in the earth's crust caused by the gravitational pull/tug from the moon.
